PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a system from being seriously affected by an operational error of a maintenance person during plug and play. SOLUTION: Connection state display devices 102 and hot-swap display devices 103 related respectively to sub-electronic devices 151 to 155, are provided respectively with LEDs and switches. When the sub-electronic devices 151 to 155 are subjected to the plug and play, the state of connection is checked by means of the LEDs and swapping is performed by pressing the switches. By pressing a switch, a plug and play display device 103 sets a relevant sub-electronic device in a plug and play state. Thereafter, if another maintenance person tries to perform a connection process on the relevant sub-electronic device, the connection process is refused until the plug and play state is released. An adverse effect on an information processor can be prevented caused by the maintenance person erroneously swapping the sub-electronic device being in a connected state. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
