PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfactorily clean an electrode without wearing the electrode, and to enable continuously discharging in a stable state with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: The corona discharger 1 includes a sheet electrode 61 having several sharp-tip projections, and cleaning members 63a and 63b which are arranged so as to be moved relatively to the electrode 61 and for cleaning the surface of the electrode 61 by rubbing the electrode 61 when moved. The cleaning members 63a and 63b are constituted of elastic bodies having Rockwell hardness of≥115 in terms of an M scale, and cleans the electrode 61 by being pressed against the electrode 61 with a force of 10-30 gf when moved. The electrode 61 is satisfactorily cleaned in such the way, so that the stable discharge can be continued. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
