PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a food decomposition treatment apparatus capable of treating food waste efficiently and rapidly. SOLUTION: The food decomposition apparatus is equipped with a charging port 13 for receiving food, a decomposition tank 12 equipped with a plurality of discharge ports for discharging the liquid matter in the tank, a liquid discharge pipe 22 having liquid discharge passages communicating with the discharge ports, a large number of bacterial beds supporting microorganisms and arranged in the decomposition tank 12, a temperature regulation means for regulating the temperature in the decomposition tank 12, the rotary shaft 14 horizontally arranged in the decomposition tank 12 so as to be freely rotatable centering around the axis thereof, a plurality of main stirring blades 18 vertically provided on the outer peripheral surface of the rotary shaft 14 along the axial direction thereof at predetermined intervals so that the stirring main surfaces thereof have inclination with respect to the axis of the rotary shaft 44 and drive means 16 and 17 for rotationally driving the rotary shaft 14 centering around the axis thereof.
