PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance converging responsiveness in learning a target angle in a range changeover device for rotationally driving a range changeover shaft positioned by a detent mechanism, by a motor. SOLUTION: The angle of the range changeover shaft in the positioned state by the detent mechanism is detected as a trough position angle. The deviation between the trough position angle and the preceding target angle (the deviation = trough position angle-preceding target angle) is computed. A plus angle is set if the sign of the deviation is plus, while a minus angle is set if the sign of the deviation is minus, to set the overshoot of an absolute value exceeding the dispersion width of angle detection. The next target angle is computed as the next target angle = preceding target angle + deviation + overshoot. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
