摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an optical fiber component in which a large amount of information transmission through an optical fiber having a small numerical aperture is maintained, occurrence of damage during removal operation of a cover is eliminated, connection between optical fibers is quickly conducted, protection is provided for physical and chemical attacks made by water, dust and other chemicals or the like and optical loss caused by minute bending is made less. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method for a fixing device(optical fiber component) of an electrophotographic image forming device, includes a process in which an optical fiber having a numerical aperture of 0.08 to 0.34 is prepared, a process in which protective film material is spread over the optical fiber so as to form a protective film, that adheres to the outside surface of the optical fiber and has Shore D hardness of equal to or more than 65, and a process in which buffer material is spread over the protective film to form buffer that is peelably fixed to the outer side of the film.
