<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Japanese character conversion system capable of efficiently editing a document. <P>SOLUTION: This Japanese character conversion method includes the opening of a document file, the detecting of an identifier attached to the document file, the specifying of a dictionary corresponding to the identifier, and the executing of a Japanese character conversion process by use of the specified dictionary.
