<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell processing apparatus capable of reducing the possibility of incidence of cell loss at the time of the occurrence of a fault in an active system processing means, and to provide a method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: When a cell processing section 130 is used for an active system, and a cell processing section 140 is used for a standby system, the cell processing apparatus 100 outputs an ATM cell received by the active system cell processing section 130 to an opposed communication apparatus 190 and gives the ATM cell to the standby system cell processing section 140. The standby system cell processing section 140 aborts the stored ATM cell only when the stored ATM cell received from the cell processing section 110 is coincident with the ATM cell from the active system cell processing section 130, and outputs the stored ATM cell when the standby system cell processing section 140 becomes the active system cell processing section according to a prescribed switching instruction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
