PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to select one data unit from a data group having a hierarchical structure using an operating means for selecting a plurality of data units arranged in one column or in one dimension.

SOLUTION: Serial numbers are given to individual music files included in a music file group having the hierarchical structure. When a serial number is inputted from the outside, a folder number and a file number of one music file is determined based on the serial number and one music file is selected based on these numbers.
