PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to easily confirm the contents of a moving image file with the moving image file after edition matching a thumbnail file by newly creating the thumbnail file differently from the moving image file after editing the moving image. SOLUTION: In editing a motion image file, first, the name of the file to be edited and the head frame and tail end frame of the moving image file after edition are designated. When the file is newly saved, the name of file to be stored is newly set, and when the file is overwritten and saved, the same file name as that of the file to be edited is set. The moving image file is created on the basis of information about the head frame and tail end frame after editing, and then the thumbnail file reflecting the information of the created moving image file is created.
