PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner and developer with which a sufficiently antimicrobial image is formed on demand by using an electrophotographic system instead of printing. SOLUTION: Using toner containing an antimicrobial agent and developer, an image is formed by the electrophotographic system. The antimicrobial agent is carefully selected among inorganic antimicrobial agents and organic antimicrobial agents in order that an image is made sufficiently antimicrobial without degrading the fixing property and releasing property of the toner. A metal or metal compound, an inorganic/organic compound, an oxide photo-initiator, or the like is used as the inorganic antimicrobial agent. As a metal, silver, copper, zinc, etc., can be used. However, silver is desirable from the aspect of antimicrobial activity, and a silver ion is especially preferable. The meal ion is formed into an antimicrobial agent by a proper carrier. As such an antimicrobial agent, phosphate, silicate, soluble glass, or the like is used from the aspect of the performance of developer obtained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
