PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device, a printer, a communication device and a display device in which a setting value such as an address or a password required for communications can be set by easy operations and which can be easily connected to transmit-receive data even when a character input means like a personal computer is not provided. SOLUTION: The image pickup device is provided with an optical system 201, an imaging device 202, an A/D converter 203, a video signal processing means 204, a frame memory 205, an encoding processing means 206, a memory card I/F 207, a memory card 208, a communication means 209, an operating key part 210, a system control means 211 and an LCD indication means 212, the memory card 208 on which an initial setting value of the communication means 209 has been recorded is loaded into the memory card I/F 207, and the system control means 211 reads the initial setting value of the communication means 209 recorded on the memory card 208 and performs initial setting thereof to the communication means 209, such that the initial setting value such as the address or the password required for communications or the like can easily be set.
