摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt type continuously variable transmission never causing the slippage of a belt. SOLUTION: This belt type continuously variable transmission comprises an input-side primary pulley 11 changed in groove width according to oil pressure, an output-side secondary pulley 12 changed in groove width according to oil pressure, and the belt 13 wound around the primary pulley 11 and the secondary pulley 12 and changed in pulley contact radius according to groove width. When the speed change ratio is reduced (step S3), the oil pressure of the primary pulley is set to an oil pressure obtained by intensifying a steady oil pressure portion attainable of the torque capacity of the belt and the present pulley ratio with a transient oil pressure portion attainable of a target changed speed (step S4), and the oil pressure of the secondary pulley is set to the steady oil pressure (step S5). When the speed change ratio is increased (step S3), the oil pressure of the secondary pulley is set to an oil pressure obtained by intensifying the steady oil pressure portion with the transient oil pressure portion (step S6), and the oil pressure of the primary pulley is set to the steady oil pressure (step S7).
