PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder in which sending-out to three positions with one piston rod can be performed with high precision, and moreover, moving among states of the three positions can be stably performed. SOLUTION: The cylinder is characterized in that a first spring member and a spring receiving member are arranged between a piston and one end face of a piston chamber so that movement is regulated by the one end face, a recessed part and a stopper to limit movement in the direction opposite to the piston of the spring receiving member are provided to the piston rod. A stop pin, which is engaged with the recessed part and energized by a second spring member, is arranged to a cylinder tube, and the sending-out of the piston rod is regulated to the following three positions, that is, a position where the other end face of the piston chamber and the piston are brought into contact with each other, a position where the end part apart from the piston at the recessed part and the stop pin are brought into contact with each other, and a position where the end part on the piston side of the recessed part and the stop pin are brought into contact with each other or movement of the spring receiving member in the piston direction is stopped.
