PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease intake air resistance of an intake air taking structure of an engine for vehicle which provides an inlet taking intake air at a space formed between a hood ridges panel comprising an engine room and a fender. SOLUTION: The structure provides a rein force 12 forming a box cross section fixing upper and lower ends to a hood ridges 1 between the hood ridges 1 at the side of the engine room 4 and the fender 7, an outside air introducing duct 6 opening an outside air intake inlet 6A at a box space in which end portion is fixed at the hood ridges 1, and forms an outside air taking inlet 1 at a location facing the outside air intake 6A of the outside air introducing duct 6 of the rein force 12.
