PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner where overcharge of a battery is prevented. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner is provided with an electric blower 5 driven by the battery 6, a charging circuit 21 for charging the battery 6 and a controller 22 for controlling this charging circuit 21. Based on at least either of the temperature variation and voltage variation of the battery 6 during charging, the controller 22 stops charging by the charging circuit 21. The controller 22 controls the charging circuit 21 to avoid charging when the blower 5 is not driven after charging of the last time. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
