PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical receptacle with a structure having a stable optical connection and also realizing downsizing and high density packaging. SOLUTION: The optical receptacle wherein a tip part of a fiber stub 4 holding an optical fiber 4a in a through-hole of a ferrule 4b is inserted into a sleeve 3, and also the rear end part is held by a holder 6, and wherein the above fiber stub 4 is held in the stub holder 5 and also the stub holder 5 is held by the holder 6.
