<p>The invention relates to suture apparatus and particularly but not exclusively to apparatus for securing a suture clip to suture material. The apparatus (10) comprises a body (12) comprising a handle assembly (20)coupled to a first end (15) of an elongate shank (16) defining a longitudinal axis AA and a closure assembly head (40) coupled to a second end of the elongate shank, opposite to the first end. The closure assembly head comprises a pair of members (42) at least one of which is moveable towards the other when securing a suture clip to suture material. The or each moveable member is configured to move in a direction substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the elongate shank.</p>
