摘要 A process to clean effluent water with an organic impurity has primary and secondary circuits. The primary circuit has a heat exchanger (4) and an evaporator (7) from which concentrate (12) is discharged. Water is evaporated in the secondary circuit and is then condensed. Outgoing water is sub-divided into a main flow and a secondary flow. The process has a heat exchanger (10) to which flows concentrate (12), thereby heating the secondary flow. The process has a further heat exchanger (4) through which flows distillate (35) from the evaporator (7), thereby heating the main flow through the heat exchanger (4). The process has an external heater (40) for secondary circuit distillate (35). Also claimed is a commensurate assembly in which the heat exchanger operates at a ratio of 1:1. Incoming effluent water is retained in a basic chemical condition by admixture of NaOH and regulated by monitoring the pH value. The assembly has a larger than prior art high evaporator unit (7) which encourages the collapse of foam without further mechanical or chemical action. The cyclone separator is located outside the main unit. In a further embodiment a foam quantity sensor is located in the in the evaporator, and that an anti-foam additive is introduced within a static mixer unit.
