PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform appropriate γ correction no matter what kind of γ correction is performed in a connected image signal generator.

SOLUTION: A display device for displaying image signals inputted from a personal computer comprises: a reception part (S01) for receiving the image signals from the personal computer connected to the display device; a γ value detection part (S02) for detecting the γ value of the image signals of a specified pattern on the basis of the image signals of the specified pattern received by a reception means; a correction value calculation part (S03) for calculating a correction value from the detected γ value and the γ value of the display device; and a monitor correction part for γ correcting the image signals received by the reception means according to the calculated correction value.
