PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste ink handling device of a high capability of discharging waste ink whereby the waste ink discarded to a platen is quickly discharged from the platen and is prevented from leaking from the platen. SOLUTION: The waste ink handling device has the platen 110 with a recess 114 formed for receiving the waste ink, and a waste ink transfer means 130 for moving the waste ink out of the platen 110. An ink reservoir 114a where ink accumulates is formed at the recess 114, and an ink absorber 117 for absorbing the ink is disposed in the recess 114. An ink suction means 132 is set at the waste ink transfer means 130 so that it can forcibly suck the waste ink from the ink reservoir 114a. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
