PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low cost, highly accurate multiplication circuit which saves input/output signals and can be constructed with high flexibility. SOLUTION: A plurality of input signals are represented by single bit signals, and a multiplication result is outputted as single bit signals for each clock. According to this arrangement, SYNC signals, serial/parallel conversion circuits, and serial/parallel circuits become unnecessary, and low cost production can be realized. Thanks to disuse of SYNC signals, the number of signals are decreased, and the relationship between pre-stage circuits and post-stage circuits becomes thin. As a result, higher degree of freedom is brought in circuit design. Thus, a flexible multiplication circuit capable of high accuracy operation and multi-phase input operation can be implemented, as the need arises. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
