PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera photographing type image scanner which automatically replaces a plurality of paper sheets while maintaining the operability of the camera photographing type image scanner so as to enhance the operability and the job efficiency. SOLUTION: The camera photographing type image scanner is provided with: a camera photographing type image scanner section 1; a paper placing mechanism section 2 to which a plurality of paper sheets are set; a sheet suppression mechanism section 7 to carry the paper to a read position; and a paper feed mechanism section 9. A caption 7-1 indicates the sheet suppression mechanism section on a container section 4 for paper before reading, a caption 7-2 depicts the sheet suppression mechanism section on an image read section 3 operated in interlocking with the sheet suppression mechanism section on the container section 4 for paper before reading 7-1, and a caption 7-3 shows the fixed sheet suppression mechanism section on the image read section 3 that acts like a read reference.
