PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing apparatus constituted so that magnetic force is uniformly generated around a developing sleeve and a good image can be obtained by suppressing wear between a flange member and a magnetic roller and easily maintaining the accuracy of a gap (t) between the inner circumferential surface of the developing sleeve and the outer circumferential surface of the magnetic roller. SOLUTION: The developing apparatus is equipped with the developing sleeve, the flange member fixed at the end part of the developing sleeve, and the magnetic roller arranged inside the developing sleeve. The end part of the magnetic roller is supported by the flange member so as to be coaxial with the developing sleeve, and the flange member is arranged so as to be freely rotated relative to the end part of the magnetic roller. Liquid lubricant lies on the contact surface with the end part of the magnetic roller of the flange member. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
