PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma counter material for a nuclear fusion reactor having small wear by sputtering and small radiation loss when mixing the material into plasma and absorbing little tritium. SOLUTION: This compound has a component composition expressed by a chemical formula; Be-xat%M, where M is one kind selected from among Ti, V, Mo. W, Zr, Nb and Ta, ( 2.0≤x≤15.0(at%)).
