PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment method and water treatment apparatus capable of performing the decomposition of contaminants and the sterilization and extinction of microorganisms by disposing discharge sections for generating oxygen active species having great reaction characteristics into water to be treated. SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with a water flow pipe 11 which has the film of polyaniline 12 generating oxygen active species formed on its inner wall and in which the water is circulated from below to above and the first and second discharge sections 14 and 15 which discharge electricity to the water to be treated by applying high-voltage pulses thereto. More than two water discharge sections 14 and 15 are arranged at the water flow pipe 11 and the oxygen active species and oxygen are generated by the discharge section 14 on the upstream side and are supplied to the polyaniline 12 and thereafter the many oxygen active species are formed by the second discharge section 15 on the downstream so that the contaminants in the water to be treated are decomposed and the microorganisms therein are sterilized. As a result, the decomposition of the contaminants and the sterilization and extinction of the microorganisms are made possible. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
