PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dehydration device preventing generation of wrinkles in a filter cloth and increase in the wrinkles thereof. SOLUTION: The dehydration device 10 has an air-permeable endless belt 20 which is circularly driven and an endless filter cloth 26 supported on the belt 20 at least in a predetermined dehydration area and circularly driven. The dehydration device 10 sucks water of a material 12 to be dehydrated placed on the filter cloth in the dehydration area. This dehydration device 10 is provided with a filter cloth stretching machine 35 arranged on the upstream side in a circulating drive direction of the filter cloth forwardly of the dehydration area and affording the cloth a tension toward both the ends thereof. A cloth stretching machine in the dehydration device eliminates the wrinkles before the dehydration area, thus growth of the wrinkles/increase in them are prevented. Accordingly, the cloth is not damaged by the wrinkles, and prolonged life of the cloth is attained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
