PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a throttle valve drive unit capable of improving the control precision in engine speed control of idling with a relatively simple method. SOLUTION: A model parameter of a model to be controlled modeled after a throttle valve drive unit is identified, and an identification error ide is calculated by use of the identified model parameter (S49). The identification of the next model parameter is performed by use of the identification error ide. When a throttle valve opening TH is on the low opening side of a prescribed THIDE, the identification error ide is corrected so that the opening has a value larger than when it is on the high opening side (S50 and S51). Accordingly, the throttle valve opening TH is vibrated in a minute amplitude according to the minute change of a target opening THR during the idling engine speed control, and the duty ratio of the vibration is changed substantially in proportion to the target opening THR.
