<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively suppress the deterioration of an image quality caused by the sticking of residual toner after transfer to an electrifying member even by adopting a constitution that the residual toner after transfer on a latent image carrier passes through a contact area with the electrifying member. <P>SOLUTION: Only reverse electrified toner T<SB>1</SB>out of the residual toner after transfer remaining on a photoreceptive drum 1 is recovered by a brush roller 41. Normal electrified toner T<SB>0</SB>out of the residual toner after transfer passes through the contact area with an electrifying roller 3a as it is, and then, is recovered by a developing device 5. The reversely electrified toner recovered by the brush roller is discharged on the photoreceptive drum 1 at time other than an image forming time. Then, since the electrifying roller is grounded, the reversely electrified toner passes through the contact area as it is, and is recovered by the developing device to which developing bias is applied. Thus, electrification start voltage between the electrifying roller and the surface of the photoreceptive drum is not changed, so that the deterioration of image density, the occurrence of surface staining, and the occurrence of image density unevenness are prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
