PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system which operates quickly, prevents a deterioration in received signals from being perceived, and generates a control signal for an adaptive circuit in a chain of a demodulator. SOLUTION: A system for receiving a composite signal with a main component and a multipath component includes a chain of a demodulator with an adaptive circuit which can be controlled by responding to a control signal to compensate the multipath component. In this system, a control signal generator includes a phase error estimator. The estimator generates a signal indicating an estimated value of a phase error between the received main component and received multipath component.
