PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently wash rice by spraying water from a water spray section on the entire surface of rice. SOLUTION: The rice washer has water spray sections 51A, 51B for spraying water from the upper side of a rice washing vessel 21 into the vessel. The water spray sections 51A, 51B are arranged at positions apart from that of the plane center of the vessel 21, and the water spray ranges 71, 71 of them are set so that a non-sprayed part does not appear on the upper surface of rice in the vessel 21 as far as possible.
