PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of packing a boxlike load for smoothly performing packing and carrying operations, and a packing belt to be used in the method. SOLUTION: The packing belt (10) formed like a ladder is used. After the external surface of the boxlike load (60) is covered with a cushion cover 70, the ladder-like belt (10) is once wound around the external surface of the load along a parting line for connecting diagonal corners (61 and 62) and (63 and 64) on the boxlike load and diagonally dividing the load (60) into two parts along the longitudinal direction, and securely fastened. Therefore, the packing operation can be completed by the single ladder-like packing belt (10), dispensing with a conventional fastening metal fitting. In addition, since the belt (10) is placed along the parting line, the center of gravity does not shift, the respective corners of the load can be tightly supported, and the load can be smoothly carried with numerous handles provided.
