A food dispensing machine and method. A first food portion (31) is dispensed from a first dispensing device (22), which slices a film (36) and expels the food portion (31). The first food portion (31) is loaded onto a projecting component (39), which transports the first food portion (31) to a first heating device (26) and rotates the food portion (31) during heating. There is a second food portion (34), such as buns, attached t a film (36) which is dispensed by a second dispensing device (33), which separates each food portion (34) from the film (36) for placement onto a tray (40).
