PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method preparing a gene product by utilizing previously determined properties. SOLUTION: The method for producing a peptide or polypeptide by a biological means is characterized by simultaneously making genes comprising at least partially stochastically generated polynucleotides in one common medium; culturing the obtained genes to produce clones producing proteins; and then screening and/or selecting the transformed clone to identify the clone for producing the peptide or polypeptide having at least one specific property.
