PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer device which is excellent in quality and durability regardless of environment and the resistance variation of a transfer member production and low in cost and small in size without using a power source unnecessitating a complicated control. SOLUTION: In the transfer device to transfer toner on a latent image carrier to a body to be transferred by forming an electric field at the transfer member by a bias applying means, the bias applying means is constituted of constant current bias, and also the transfer member is obtained by adding carbon to a base whose current dependency is small and its current dependency is changed by changing an adding quantity and a dispersed state, and when resistance in measuring by the current value of the set current I<SB>1</SB>of the constant current bias is set as R<SB>1</SB>(Ω), the resistance of the transfer member in measuring by the current value of the half times of the set current I<SB>1</SB>is set as R<SB>0.5</SB>(Ω) and the resistance of the transfer member in measuring by the current value of twice of the set current I<SB>1</SB>is set as R<SB>2</SB>(Ω), the expression of log(R<SB>1</SB>)>log(R<SB>0.5</SB>/R<SB>2</SB>) + 8.0 is satisfied.
