PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a standing-up assisting chair for assisting a person who has difficulties in standing-up and sitting-down actions from/on a chair, etc., because of muscle power falling, handicap, or a joint pain, etc., in lower limbs. SOLUTION: The seat surface of the standing-up assisting chair is divided at a substantially central part into the front and rear direction, and one end of the front seat surface 8a is connected to the rear seat surface 8b so as to be swingable. A driving member for elevating/lowering the seat surfaces is arranged under the seat surfaces, and is divided in arrangement into the front and rear driving members. The seat surfaces are elevated up to a prescribed height while substantially keeping their horizontality by simultaneously driving the front and rear driving members, and, then, the front driving member is contracted, so that the front seat surface is inclined downward.
