A gripper for receiving objects having a locating recess (9) has a finger arrangement provided with several fingers (8) which can tilt transversely to the longitudinal axis and function in unison with a tilting device and the free ends of the fingers follow the tilting action of the fingers to carry out a radial movement relative to the axes of the finger arrangement. The tilting device has a rotary head arranged rotatably relative to the axes of the finger arrangement and joined to an associated drive device, the rotary head having guides with continually changing axial spacing over their length in which the fingers (8) grip with their end zones opposite the free ends.
