A generator, such as a wind generator, is controlled by estimating the stator flux position from the rotor speed, comparing the active/reactive power of the generator with a desired power and selecting an inverter voltage vector according to the comparison and the flux position. The inverter voltage vector may be selected from a table. The rotor speed, the output voltage and the output current may be used to calculate rotor and/or stator flux. The power desired from the generator may be calculated from a torque reference, a power factor reference, or a stator flux reference which can be transformed to the rotor frame using the rotor speed. |
