PURPOSE: A socket for a fluorescent lamp is provided to be configured in no-preheating lighting type, thereby preventing melanization of a fluorescent lamp without a start lamp and extending life of the fluorescent lamp. CONSTITUTION: A socket body(10) forms a fluorescent lamp pin insertion groove(12) in an upper part, forms a fluorescent lamp section fixing groove(14) consecutive with the pin insertion groove(12), forms a connection terminal location fixing projection, and forms many socket cover fixing grooves on both sides of a rear side. A socket cover is fixed on the rear side of the socket body(10), forms many socket cover fixing projections corresponding to the socket cover fixing grooves, forms a fluorescent lamp pin guide(34), and forms a wire connecting groove. A U-shaped connection terminal(50) is installed on a space formed by coupling the socket body(10) with the socket cover. A lower curve is fixed by the connection terminal location fixing projections. A fluorescent lamp pin fixing projection is formed in the middle of the U-shaped connection terminal(50). Both sections of the U-shaped connection terminal(50) are fixed to sides of the socket cover fixing grooves.
