A golf putting practise track 1 comprises two parallel rails 2, 3, a direction error detection assembly 4 at one end of the rails and a positioning plate 5 for the ball and putter. The plate 5 is installed at a predetermined distance from the direction error detection assembly 4. In use the putter is kept at right angles to the rails 2, 3. Preferably the positioning plate 5 has a cut out at the centre of the leading edge to accommodate the ball, two lines parallel to the rails 2, 3 spaced apart by a distance greater than the diameter of a golf ball, and a back edge at right angles to the rails 2, 3. Swing monitor strips 6-8 may be installed between the rails 2, 3. The direction error detection assembly 4 preferably comprises a transverse shaft (22, Fig 4) with pairs of circumferential grooves (25-30, Fig 4) spaced apart by distances related to the angular error allowable for putts of various distances. Rectangular plates (31, 32, Fig 4) may be hung in the circumferential grooves (25-30, Fig 4) and are free to rotate of hit by a golf ball. |
