A water purification device intended for purification and desalination of water (1), is driven by heat (9) and purificates incoming water by distillation (43), the device incorporates a compressor (28), that is creating a low pressure section at the inlet section and a high pressure section at the outlet section, heat for distillation comes from steam that is condensing at the outlet side of the compressor at a higher pressure and distillation is on going at the inlet side by a lower pressure. Heat exchanger (32, 64) exchanges heat between the flow (51) that is led to distillation and the outgoing condensed water (41) and brine (46). The device is characterized of a compressor (28) driven by a Stirling engine (5, 24), the cold side of the Stirling engine is cooled of incoming water (47), that shall be purificated and the hot side of the stirling engine (15) is heated by a source of heat (9). |
