PURPOSE: A method for distributing sound outputs in an audio system is provided to output signals of all channels though the number of connected jacks is less than the number of channels by distributing properly multi-channel audio signals according to the number of connected jacks. CONSTITUTION: A sound output distribution information map table is formed according to the number of connected jacks(S11). A plurality of jacks connected to a plurality of connectors is detected from an audio system including the connectors(S12). The number of connected jacks is counted(S13). The distribution of sound outputs to output channels is decided according to the counted number of the connected jacks. The sound reproduced from a source is distributed the connected jacks according to the decided sound output distribution information(S14).
