PURPOSE: A composition of a switching mode power supply for protecting a circuit and a composing method thereof are provided to prevent the damage due to the heat of resistor and the power consumption by detecting an abnormal state of a relay. CONSTITUTION: A composition of a switching mode power supply for protecting a circuit includes a resistance(210), a relay(220), an error detector(230), a controller(240), and an error display(250). The resistance(210) is used for blocking the initial inrush current. The relay(220) is connected in parallel to the resistance in order to change the current flow by blocking the current of the resistance. The error detector(230) is used for detecting an error of the relay. The controller(240) is used for controlling a supplying state of the power according to the detected error. The error display(250) is used for displaying the detected error.
