The boot flap (2) is mounted by rotary fitments to swivel between open and closed position. At least one of the fitments (8) which acts between the frame of the vehicle rear and the boot flap (2) is connected to a spring (16) whose spring force assists in the opening of the boot. The hinges or rotary joints comprise a guide rod lever (8) mounted rotationally on the frame of the vehicle rear on one side and on the boot flap on the other. A gas compression spring (9) can be provided additionally between boot flap and vehicle frame.
