PURPOSE: Provided is a composition for an electrode of a lead storage battery, which has a sufficient acid resistance against highly corrosive sulfuric acid, and shows excellent compatibility with electrode active materials to prevent the deterioration of the battery caused by the separation of active materials from an electrode plate. CONSTITUTION: The composition for an electrode of a lead storage battery comprises 0.01 to 1 wt% of a polymer containing a reactive group of a metal sulfonate as a binder for electrode active materials, based on the total weight of the composition. In the composition, the metal sulfonate-based polymer is optionally copolymerized with another polymer. In particular, the metal sulfonate-based polymer is a vinyl sulfonic acid-based polymer. |
