The switch includes an operating member formed as a rocker arm (14), which operates a switching device (12). An electric motor (16) comprises a rotationally mounted rotor (32). The operating member is connected to the rotor and thereby rotationally or rockably mounted in common with the rotor. The switch may be formed as a press-key. An Independent claim is included for a method of signaling the switching state of a switching device.
