Two exhaust pipes (3, 4) individually serve groups of cylinders (5, 7) in the engine (1). Each pipe includes a silencer assembly (11, 12). An intermediate cross connection (14) joins the pipes. This is a duct capable of transmitting sound either way, between the pipes. A controller (15) adjusts this sound transmission, and can shut it off completely. |
