PURPOSE: A device having a protective layer and a method for forming a protective layer are provided to enhance the productivity by simplifying a fabrication process. CONSTITUTION: A device forming process is performed(S10). A polymer resin layer is formed on an outer surface of the device(S20). The polymer resin layer formed on the outer surface of the device is hardened by performing a hardening process(S30). The device forming process includes a process forming a bar-shaped device. The device is divided into a plurality of chip units by performing a cutting process after the hardening process(S40). A metal electrode is formed on a cut surface of the single device(S50).
