The roller arrangement is in a booklet and folding machine and comprises first (1) and second (2) pairs of rollers which are rotatably driven, between which booklets (4) pass successively for folding. The first roller pair comprises two rollers movable to and from each other and spring-loaded against one another. The second roller pair has two rollers with adjustable mutual spacing. Mechanical components (3), after insertion of booklets between the rollers in the first roller pair, automatically adjust the reciprocal spacing between the rollers in the second pair dependent on the distance between the rollers in the first pair.
