OIL SEAL FOR SHOCK ABSORBER

PURPOSE: An oil seal for a shock absorber is provided to prevent oil leak through the assembling portion of the oil seal and the outer pipe and gas leak from restoring force of an embossed part or damage in the outer periphery of the oil seal in pressing the oil seal to the outer pipe, and to improve stability and efficiency by omitting the press-fit process of the rod guide. CONSTITUTION: An oil seal(150) of a shock absorber is installed in the upper part of a rod guide(140). The outer periphery of the oil seal is contacted to the inner periphery of an outer pipe(120), and the inner periphery of the oil seal is contacted to the outer periphery of a piston rod(130) to prevent leak of oil and gas. Plural gas injection ports(157) are formed on the concentric circle of the outside surrounding a reinforcing washer, and a protruded part(156) is extended downward in the outer periphery of the oil seal. The protruded part prevents gas leakage from damage of the outer periphery of the oil seal through the assembling portion of the oil seal and the outer pipe in pressing the oil seal to the outer pipe.
