PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately control toner supply amount so as to set toner electrifying amount at a specified value though a specified developing potential contrast is not realized. SOLUTION: A shadow patch and a highlight patch are formed by setting the output power of exposure laser light at a set value LP1, and also the output power of laser light is set at the set value LP2, so that the shadow patch and the highlight patch are formed. The density of two sets of patches is measured, and a shadow inference rule line SL and a highlight inference rule line HL are extracted from a density measured value and the set values LP1 and LP2 of the output power. Shadow patch density by which a density ratio between the shadow patch and the highlight patch becomes a prescribed value is estimated from the lines SL and HL. Then, the toner supply amount by which the toner electrifying amount becomes the specified value is decided from the shadow patch density inferred. |
